Page-a-minute is a screening rule of thumb. A table read is slower: people laugh, miss cues, and sip water. This timer uses spoken-word WPM plus a beat per action paragraph so you can book the room.

160 is a brisk conversational read. Drop to 140 for dense drama or a first pass with a large cast.
